Alvarez hit the penalty so hard he couldn't move but made a decent save from him in the first half and despite Lookman's tame effort, he was in the right place to stop it going in

I think he's a bit unlucky on the penalty, it seemed to hit his shin and then his hand, but in Europe they always get given

Excellent again, for me his reading of the game and anticipation are as good as anyone in the world

A little untidy once or twice, but made a huge block to deny Griezmann a second half goal from close range

Another big performance from him, Simeone took off his own son at half-time after he got no change from the Ecuadorian, and Llorente fared little better in the second half, the mad conspiracy loving cunt

Absolutely outstanding in the first half in particular, sitting deeper than normal he helped control things on the ball and snuff out danger from the other side. No player on the pitch made more passes and he did it at 93% completion

A tidy performance on the ball, played a bit further forward where he combined well with others and took some of the defensive responsibility away from him

Had a good first half, helped us control things, and it was his ball through to Gyokeres that led to the penalty in the first half. Didn't look happy to come off just before the hour, but after a lot of injuries, and with big games to play, it made sense

Better from him in this game, tidy on the ball, didn't take too many risks, and had one effort curl just wide

Did his defensive work very well, made one very good second half recovery, but going forward a bit blunt despite being solid in possession

Showed better strength and hold up play this evening than in previous games, which is a real positive, and absolutely smashed home his penalty

Took a while to get into it as we tried to wrestle some control back in the 2nd half, but did grow into the game, showed some lovely skills and directness and should have had a penalty when he was fouled in their box but for some reason VAR overturned it.

Individually none of three subs we used late were outstanding, but they helped us get control back – where Atletico had 70% possession, they did their part in turning it into 64% for us

See above – he gives you a different option from Gyokeres, likes to get on the ball in different areas.

See the Trossard rating again, perhaps the brightest of the three, some nice footwork, and his pass to Eze led to the overturned penalty

Not on long enough to rate but his first action after being brought on to help keep us defensively solid was to test Oblak with a shot from the edge of the box

Bonus

0/10 - the halftime ham sandwich man, Señor por favor, it's really not hygienic and you could easily make a better sanger at home before you come to the game.
